“My Baby Knows Best and I know My Baby Best!”
The Birthing With Ease Newborn Care Workshop is great for
first time parents and for experienced parents who would like to make
life with a newborn simpler and more enjoyable for the whole family! Did
you know that newborns do not need to cry to communicate? Did you know
that you and your baby can happily get plenty of sleep even in the first
few days? This is an empowering class where you will gain confidence in
your newborn care skills and learn that you already know your own baby
better than all the “experts”.
• Discover how to sleep all night every night in a way that honors
your baby’s needs.
• Learn the two reasons why babies become “criers” and
how to prevent their distress.
• Gain practical skills in carrying, diapering, nursing, feeding,
bathing, burping and calming.
• Learn how to recognize when baby is asleep or just “habituating”.
• Understand what you need to do to protect your baby’s critical
attachment window with lifelong benefits.
• Discuss what you can do before and after your birth to help avoid
postpartum depression.
• Figure out how to sort through the conflicting “expert”
advice.
• Find out what baby items are essential and what you don’t
need to buy.
• Make a plan for how you will give your newborn a secure foundation
from which to grow.
• Discuss both parents’ important roles and/or being a single
parent.
